Forget – 25 Positive Words, Day 20

Day 20

We never want to forget the goodness of God and His blessings each day, but there are certain things in life that we do want to forget. We need to forget our past mistakes. Certainly we learn from our errors, but we don’t need to keep replaying them in our mind and beating ourselves up about what we could or should have done. We also need to forget past hurts from others. It’s easy to drag up old memories about things people said or did to us and let bitterness grow, but it’s time to stop playing the “I am hurt” tape. Instead, let’s move forward with forgiveness and love.

Paul put it this way, “Forgetting those things that are behind and straining toward those things that are ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which Christ Jesus is calling me heavenward.”

Press forward my friends, leaving the past behind.

Believe – 25 Positive Words, Day 19

You’ve heard it said, “Seeing is believing,” but Jesus said, “Blessed are those who have not seen and still believe.” God is not asking us to have a blind faith, for He has revealed himself through His creation, in His word and most importantly, in Jesus. May our love grow deeper and our faith stronger as we worship Him this holiday season.

“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.”  Acts 16:31

Remember – 25 Positive Words, Day 18.

18 remember

Remember the joyful and childlike beauty of the season.

Remember, everyone has a story. Sometimes we need to be patient and understanding rather than critical and demanding.

Remember, everyone needs to be reminded of God’s love, and you may be the vessel God wants to use to encourage someone’s heart.

Remember to step back and look at the bigger picture. Circumstances can seem so big and overwhelming, but when you step back and look at it in light of eternity it can change your perspective.

Remember God loves you so much that He sent His Son to this earth to offer His life for your sins.

Remember God’s goodness and celebrate Jesus each day.

Read – 25 Positive Words, Day 17

17 read

Like it or not, reading can be a positive word in your life. Reading allows us to learn, grow and reflect on great truths, new concepts or simply delightful tales of intrigue. What exercise is to the body, reading is to the mind. Let us be wise in what we choose to read – not all reading elevates the heart and mind. Most important, read God’s living and powerful word, the Bible, everyday. Within its pages you will find hope, strength, encouragement, wisdom and love.

Charlie Tremendous Jones often said, “You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”

Thrive – 25 Positive Words, Day 16

16 thrive

Sometimes I hear people say, “If only I can just survive the holidays…” Well, I suggest we choose a different perspective. Let’s choose to THRIVE during the holidays, rather than simply surviving them. Yes, I know there is added stress during this time of year, but it is up to us to decide to have an attitude of love and strength, rather than defeat. We can ask God each day to direct our steps and give us the strength and wisdom we need to face the challenges of the day. We can also ask Him to love through us in a powerful way to bless others. Thrive in the power of His Spirit.
