How Big is Your Faith?

“Faith rests upon the character of God, not upon the demonstration of laboratory or logic.” A. W. Tozer

This month at PWC we will be studying the extraordinary story found in II Kings 4 about a widow who came to the prophet Elisha seeking help, and God provided in a miraculous way!  If you have ever needed a lesson to boost your faith in what God can do, then you don’t want to miss our meeting together in May entitled “Believe Big.” This will be our last lesson before breaking for the summer. I’m looking forward to seeing you.   Continue reading →

The Flexible Woman Never gets Bent out of Shape

While I was in India we took a picture in the center of this little bamboo forest. It reminded me of an old Japanese saying, “The bamboo that bends is stronger than the oak that resists.”

This month at PWC we will be talking learning about the importance of being flexible when we respond to the challenges which come our way. We will be studying the life of Abigail. Join us at one of our three Dallas locations. Continue reading →

How’s Your Reach?

I hope it was a Easter wonderful weekend as you celebrated the resurrection.

This past month, we studied the story of Ruth and learned not only the beauty of redemption, but also the joy of reaching out of our comfort zone in order to love another person.  Here’s the key points from our lesson.

 Positive Truth

Compassion means having the courage to step out of our comfort zone and reach out to share in someone else’s suffering.

Plan of Action

Choose to take the tough road at times.

Reach out and help in a variety of ways, both near and far.

Look for opportunities to help those closest to you.

Ask God to lead you and guide you in serving wisely.

             Don’t just give a hand-out, give a hand-up as well.

Let actions, not words, define your compassion.

Be sure to mark your calendar for our April PWC luncheons:

North Dallas Tuesday April 23

Allen:  Wednesday April 24

Grapevine: Friday April 26

I look forward to seeing you there. Don’t forget to invite a friend!

How Does God Want To Use Me?

“As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12

Perhaps  you have asked the question, “What can I do? How can God use me?” This month at PWC we are going to be learning about a woman in the Bible who came to a decision point in her life. Instead of choosing the easy road, she chose to reach out of her comfort zone and reach into someone else’s life with compassion and kindness. There are many lessons we can glean from the life of Ruth.  God has a beautiful plan for each of us to use our gifts and talents for His glory. I look forward to seeing you this month, as we talk about wonderful ways God can use each of us. See you at one of our three DFW locations!
